A somber tone engulfed the cold storage room. The party had stopped to visit the body of Blossom. Fox in particular wanted to make sure she was still there. A headless Blossom lay on the cold marble slab. Arin inspected the corpse while Fox removed a finger and placed it in his pocket. Unsure that a necromancer could really be dead; Groth poked at the body.
"Arin, could you read through the apothecary's notes?" Fox asked as he further investigated the body.
"I don't do notes, I don't write notes and I definitely don't read notes!" snapped Arin. His anger caught Fox off guard.
Nera shot a look of concern his way, "I'll go look for the notes."
While searching the Apothecary's quarters, Nera noticed that his belongings were in disarray and that all documents regarding Blossom's autopsy were missing. There was an empty safe in the corner of the room. It had also appeared that someone had broken the toilet. As the group left Groth requested a moment alone with his fallen comrade.
Weary from battle, Pas decided to nurse his wounds, he retired for the evening in the local saloon. His drunken state led him to a quarrel with a local gambler. This quickly led to a small skirmish which in turn granted him an evening in the stockades. Thankfully his inebriation allowed him to sleep through most of the night.
Later on, at the Sheriff's office, Captain Pierce informed Fox on the whereabouts of the assassin. "There is a dilapidated estate on the outskirts of the farmland," he stated. "I am going to assign Lieutenant Raddick Doomslayer to assist you in this matter. He has local knowledge and is a superb fighter."
After a moment of silent deliberation the group welcomed Lt. Raddick into the fold. They would need any help they could get as they hunted down the black assassin.
Beware the Tall Grass...
Hopefully this isn't too soon.
